Telangana
Telangana really looks like a possibility now. Interestingly, all it took was buy off a Congress MP with a cabinet post and threaten another with loss of one. There was no need for an economic package to Andhra, and no need for assurances to Telangana on water, No need to worry about Hyderabad. Just a little bribe here, a little threat there, hunger for power at the center, inept opposition parties, Jagan in jail, and Naidu worried about his own survival are enough to break up AP. No need for agitations in the street.

Re: Telangana
AP CONwallahs have always been slavish to the "high-command". NTR succeeded in dethroning CONartists in AP because he explained to people that slavishness is alien to Telugus. He re-kindled some pride and Indira's CONgress was defeated. Now that CONartists are back in power, we are back to square one. There are no credible leaders in the party who can challenge MT. Jagan is corrupt and should rot in jail.
Hopefully, MT won't destroy Hyderabad and the state.

Re: Telangana
Indophile ,
Telangana is a higher probability today than it was in a long time. however this could be all due to local elections in July.
I think you seem to suggest that kavuri's sell off and lagadapati's silence cleared the way for congress decision.
T declaration would mean a loss of 25 mp seats to congress. there is more to this than meets the eye.
a Hyderabad package is a minimum requirement with capital being in hyd for 5 to 10 years and money to andhra for a new capital.
however it won't satisfy andhra.

Them, and Undavalli keeping mum along with NTR's daughter being absent from the center stage, Naidu still scheming when everything is giving way around, below, and above him. There are no people in the streets either in Telengana or in the coasta districts, and no visible police presence. They are dividing the state silently with no assurances on Hyderabad, nothing to Andhra/Rayalaseema, and nothing to Telengana. This MO is really impressive, real cheap way to cave to short term political expediencies and divide the state and the country.
