cryptic set
i never seem to be fast enough for this crowd to get a few in of my own when someone posts them. i like doing them, but the speed here is too much for me. so i look to do them elsewhere at my own plodding pace. here are a few from a complete puzzle that i enjoyed doing recently. might be too simple for this crowd.
1) Musician has material for strings, including one form of sitar (9)
2) Very fast way to cope with lack of corkscrew? (9)
3) Compare Liberal former president with new (5)
4) European seen in London club, a place that attracts many (5)
5) Like diamonds making corrupt mob rich (7)
6) I talk nonsensically about Maori dance, Indian dance (9)
7) Plaintive cry from husband entering port, perhaps (5)
"8") Use an axe, I note, to argue contentiously (4,5)
9) Provide updated description for insurgent outside US city (7)
10) Listener stirred with no end of emotion — that's how theatre should be (7)
