Oh please! Instead of being anti-gun, be anti-welfare. These kids are part of a gang where it's a RITE OF PASSAGE to go out and kill some innocent victim.

Why are they part of a gang? It's the only place they get acknowledged, a feeling of belonging, fraternity, love, and loyalty.

They don't have parents who are married. The father typically is incarcerated, a deadbeat, a drug addict, a drug seller, or any combination thereof. There is no positive male role model who is interested in providing for his children in their home. In fact, the guy probably has twenty or more children with twenty different women.

The mother is a welfare queen BABY MAKING FACTORY who has no intention of ever marrying because then she won't get free housing, food, and cash to buy her luxury car. She has a dozen or more kids with a dozen different men to keep her cash flow intact. These women don't bother to change their baby's diaper for more than a week sometimes. Yes, you read that right. A WEEK! They find a boyfriend and have sex in front of their kids!! Yes, you read that right too. Their kids are raised with no guidance, no morals, no values, no church, no religion, no positive role models at home or in the community. Is it any wonder that the girls are having babies of their own in their early teens? The boys are joining gangs and using drugs in their early teens. Their welfare queen mother does not care what they're doing. She keeps on having babies and she keeps getting her benefits until each one is 18, and you are practically raising these kids...paying for their medical care, food, diapers, housing, public schools...except that the welfare queen will not change the diaper for a week and use the saved diaper money to buy a nice car.

VOTE REPUBLICAN. Don't be fooled by all that idealistic liberal talk. Who's the bigger fool here? The Ivy League-educated demographic that is pushing for higher taxes, or the welfare queen whose housing, food, healthcare, and dozens of children they are raising upto the age of 18 who will go on to do the same thing and either spend their entire life in the welfare system or their entire life in prison...either way taxpayers are supporting them from cradle to grave.

And don't think these welfare queens are just black. They're black, white, Hispanic, Vietnamese, Korean....they're all over where we live, and not owning a gun here is the kiss of death. It's like inviting the grim reaper into your own house. Why do you think I keep a handgun in my glove compartment at all times, a shotgun at home. Two huge ferocious dogs at home. NRA sticker on our cars at all times, so that everyone in our community knows that we are no exception to the rule of being armed at all times in this county. It would be the kiss of death not to.

Adam Lanza was mentally ill. He could have made a bomb if he wanted to. If guns were illegal, he could have got one in a matter of minutes. Where do you think criminals who would never pass a background check get their guns from? ANYONE and I mean anyone can get a gun. Gun aren't even illegal and there's a huge black market for them.

so people other than welfare queens' children commit gun violence too? welfare had nothing to do with the newtown shooting. however, gun control (or rather the lack thereof) and a mental health system that has been gutted thanks largely to successive republican administrations may have had to do something with it.

We're talking about the three kids in OK, right? The vast majority of these gang shootings don't happen in affluent parts of Connecticut. We're talking about the vast majority of gang shootings, but if you want to go off on a tangent about a Adam Lanza, feel free. He doesn't represent the vast majority of criminals.

Come hang out in one of the most impoverished rural counties in America to find out who the real criminals are. Or go live in inner-city Chicago to find out who the real criminals are. Using a tax loophole is legal. If GE is legally avoiding a huge tax bill, it doesn't mean you are actually paying that amount instead of them. Everyone, and I mean everyone has the right to minimize their tax bill legally.

There is more to Gun control than recounting all the random shootings that happen. How can we gather metrics on the violence that has NOT occurred as a result of gun access? The owners of most 7-11s, restaurants, nightclubs, taxis, pubs and clubs carry guns. If gun ownership was taken away, these businesses might close down.

I don't even want to delve into the long-term social ramifications of gun control or the historical and cultural justification for gun ownership. That's a loaded conversation.

If you have a problem with GE's tax bill, GE is welcome to come to a red state and bring all its jobs here from Connecticut. The leaders of red states like Texas are willing to give GE a ZERO tax bill in exchange for the jobs it will give to the residents in our states. God knows we need jobs here.

have you wondered why red states with all the so called economic policy advantages which you guys so passionately advocate with an almost religious zeal, are often the states that benefit the most from social welfare programs? if your politicians are so smart, why is it that you guys suck economically compared to the pinko commie blue northeast states?

Oh please! The red states have ALWAYS been impoverished, agrarian, and uneducated. We don't have the human and intellectual capital for a Silicon Valley or a Wall Street, but we are gradually getting less poor because of leaders with foresight like Rick Perry who go around the country wooing companies and investors with tax breaks.

The biggest thing holding us back is the huge percentage of the population that mooches off the government. We have been throwing money at this problem since Civil Rights/LBJ. After 50 years, all the federal government ended up doing is creating baby making factories, crowded prisons, and criminal gangs. Cut back and see how quickly they'll line up to get a job with the Army/Marines/Navy/Air Force...they are always recruiting in this area and no one joins because they're getting free money to stay home and watch TV all day.

Yeah, I'm aware of that. I live over here and I see rampant fraud and crime on a daily basis. People trying to get DH to sign off on permanent disability papers because their total cholesterol is anything over 100...he never signs...he tells them to make lifestyle changes, stop doing drugs, stop having babies at 45 at exactly the same time that their grandchildren are having their great grandchildren.

Finally, there is a very law-abiding and honest demographic here that lives off the land. Farmers, hunters, fishermen. They go to church, consider it beneath them to ever ask for any help from the government, and have a welfare system in their church. they tithe 10% of their money to the church, and if they ever need money during a financial crisis, their church will help them out. Same with those who join the army etc. Very proud and disdainful of accepting free money from the govt that they haven't worked for.
