It seems many wealthy people are buying up land around Ongole like there's no tomorrow. The government, however, should not sell any land from its vast holdings to private parties. They could however lease it for extended periods (say 20,30,40 years), but should never hand over ownership rights. Otherwise, there will be lot of hanky-panky played by powerful people.

the govt should transparently and publicly auction the land and sell to the highest bidder and reinvest the profits. try to learn, indophile.

The only problem is auctions for ownership do get rigged, especially when there is so much money at stake. Best is to keep govt lands as govt lands, but just auction the leases, may be.
