India is not a democrasy. I wasa not allowed to contest TN assembly election when I was still residing in Indian occupied TN).
Tolerant to diisent? Ask the relatives of dozens of unarmed protesters shot and kills and 100s maimed in 1965.
Ask the 10s of 1000s of Sikhs butchered to put down Khalistan movement.

No country allows its citizens to contest polls if the candidate makes speeches against the country in which he is contesting - US included (that is one reason why you cannot openly claim to be a commie).
You should thank the Indian Govt for saving you the deposit of your Rs. 1000.
