When godman Asaram was tongawala Asumal of Ajmer

I have no clue about this guy (Asaram) ... who he is or what he does or who follows him? But almost every article on him about the recent sexual abuse charges / allegations against him includes information about him driving tonga and selling tea after he moved as a young boy from Pakistan to India after India's partition in 1947.  Why is that?

The media provides such information for people like me who are curious about what the guy did before he became famous or notorious and where he went to school etc. IMO they are doing a great service.

The media provides such information for people like me who are curious about what the guy did before he became famous or notorious and where he went to school etc. IMO they are doing a great service.

That makes little sense Rishiji. If the implication is that a tonga driver or a tea seller can't / shouldn't become a godman then what about Krishna (a cow-herder) and Jesus (a carpenter) as the great religious personalities?

Our leader Rajini Kanth was a bus conductor before he became a superstar.

Mata Amirthanandamayi was a daughter of a poor fisherman.
