Two other made it to the top 300—IIT Bombay (233) and IIT Kanpur (295). IIT Madras is ranked 313 while IIT Kharagpur stands at 346.
The methodology consists of six indicators: academic reputation (40%), employer reputation (10%), and faculty student ratio (20%), citations per faculty (20%), international students (5%) and international faculty (5%).
Wait... Indian schools will lose 10% for lack of international students/faculty, then employer reputation depends on which employers are surveyed - internationals, MNCs or Indian companies. Right there Indian schools will lose some 20 points and they are done - forever.
In fact, academic reputation is such a BS - it means "perception + tradition+ next door Mama's views"
