what are you going to analyze on a chart of housing price index even if it's available? it's not a liquid market like stock or futures market

Two goods sources of what is happening in real estate in a local area is to check number of registrations. In ap this information is published at regular intervels in vernacular press.
There are also surveys done on demand through out the country.
One can get access lot of these reports on a timely basis through real estate professional connections.

Indian real estate is a liquid enough market for securitisation. The main road block is that the many factors that influence the pricing as well as the very deals themselves are not very transparent and so difficult to financially engineer the same.
