Aam Aadmi Party begins to make its mark
The response that Arvind Kejriwal's newly-formed Aam Aadmi Party has been receiving on the ground and in opinion polls has rattled the top BJP leadership, who feel that AAP is filling the space that should have been occupied by the BJP. The India Today Group C-Voter Opinion Poll showed the new Aam Aadmi Party notching up a vote share of an impressive 17 per cent. The party believes that a lot of the votes that AAP is picking up are anti-establishment votes, which should naturally come to the BJP.

If AAP gets a sole majority in Delhi, it'll be a good test-bed to validate their governance model and execution. However, if it throws up a hung, as the surveys are hinting now, AAP's approach of 'equal distance from Cong and BJP' and 're-elections till there is a clear winner' may enforce opportunistic situations post poll.

Smartha,
Ralph nadar's Florida adventure in 2000 is an example of vote division to help opposition.Praia rajyam party in 2009 elections is a more clear form of opportunistic third party vote splitting.
On the other hand how will a new third party take root? If one believes in educating public to win citizens for long term, short term problems are part of the process.
Aam admi party ability to get traction is also a reflection on bjp and its anti Muslim politics.people may be looking for non corrupt secular leaders.

That is baloney.
Aam Aadmi party is most probably going to help Congress retain power Or at best finish very close to 50% mark, thus robbing BJP bid's to come back. BJP also hasn't helped matters by the confusion in CM aspirants etc..
If Congress comes back with 50% seats, AAP will be party to blame, but if Congress comes first with 45% seats , and needs AAP's 5-8 seats to form government, then AAP can push some sort of Lokpal bill, but still it would be directly responsible in preventing BJP's bid to come back into power.
Regarding AAP, he is naive. He is purely hammering at the Corruption angle, without working on supply side. AAP has many deficiencies, literally no second level leadership, bankrolled predominantly by Shanti Bhushan (A questionable character), and no understanding of the revenue side on how to grow economy.
If anybody wants to truly curb lower level corruption, the first thing that is required is to reform Police Force (with good salaries), which needs solid revenues. Second thing is to reform government services with again Pay reforms and incentive schemes. All these need administrative finesse, which AAP has not shown to be capable off.
They are getting a bulk of middle class votes, who are opposed to corruption, and have been drawn in by the idealized Anna Campaign, thus cutting into anti-congress votes, indirectly helping Congress. These middle class folks believe AAP will completely eradicate corruption. But unfortunately AAP is not going to win.
He is hardly making any dent with Poor/Slum voters.
Muslims anyway vote Congress, and with may unauthorized colonies with Illegal Bangladeshis Congress's vote bank remains. Congress has promised regularizing these. So AAP itself may not cross 10 at best 15.
