This round started with Digvijaya Singh's tweets this morning lashing out at Narendra Modi, who was quoted in a newspaper interview saying that India's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru never attended the funeral of his Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in 1950. The Congress accuses the BJP of trying to appropriate the legacy of Sardar Patel, known as India's iron man.

Digvijaya Singh cited the biography of another Prime Minister, Morarji Desai, which had an account of Nehru attending Sardar Patel's funeral in Mumbai, to 'expose' Mr Modi's claims. Calling Mr Modi a 'liar', the Congress leader tweeted: "Couldn't BJP find a better leader? What's wrong with Sushma (Swaraj)?"
