I just saw the information on Muslim population of different areas in India (in 2001). UP is an interesting case. Muslims are in good numbers all across the state and this explains why CONmen and Mulayam are eagerly licking the monomaniac ars and BJP is doing Ram bhajan. In SI, Hyderabad has a significant Muslim population (41%). In TN, overall, the Muslim population is rather small. Across NI, many places have Muslim population above 20%. 

In AP, those opposed to Telangana separation are arguing that Hyderabad will become a hot bed for IM-ISI activity if Telangana separates. Some are suggesting that another Kashmir is in the making. But, how about UP? If UP is split into smaller states, will the police forces of the smaller states be able to deal with communal violence (started by either of the H & M communities)? Even if UP remains a big state, what will happen when the "minority" becomes the majority and remains poor? Is the time bomb ticking?
