True story: I was invited to a lunch hour meeting today where they said lunch would be provided. I asked if there would be any vegetarian options available. The person who invited me told me that there would be a 'chief salad' that I could pick the meat out of. Or, if I ate fish ("I know some vegetarians eat fish", she wrote), I could have the tuna sandwich.

yes. many vegetarian indian brahmins eat fish like the GSBs and maithili brahmins. i think kashmiri brahmins too.
