Ms Jayalalithaa's Prime Ministerial aspiration was evident quite early when she was part of the Third Front, joining hands with Samajwadi Party's Mulayan Singh Yadav, Telugu Desam Party's Chandrababu Naidu and Left parties.

For 2014, she has not made up her mind on the alliance yet. Actor Vijayakanth's DMDK with who she won a thumping majority has already snapped ties. The BJP, which is firmly backing Narendra Modi for PM, will also be wary of getting another PM aspirant into its fold.

the idea is to get the AIADMK into the Cong fold. since Rahul has not shown PM material uptill now, JJ can be an option. You see, its crucial for Cong to make up for the seats it will lose in AP, Rajasthan, and Delhi. Now the states it will do better than last time are karnataka, himachal, and maybe uttarakhand. but really, they need to get their act together in UP, Bihar, TN, West Bengal, Orissa. JJ might be acceptable to people like Mulayam and Mayawati who would be willing to be Cong allies but not willing to have either Mulayam or Mayawati become PM because of their inner rivalry. Lalu may also be ok with JJ. In West Bengal, i think Cong should strike an alliance with the left front since they need to fight mamata together. the left leaders i think have an understanding with jayalalitha. for proof of this see here:

It appears that JJ has stayed away from corruption in recent years. She also seems to have a lot of following based on what she has done for the poor and for minorities. But the scary part is her dictatorial persona.
