us paying attention: devyani case
http://www.deccanchronicle.com/131229/news-current-affairs/article/khobragade-case-strong-indian-response-shocks-us-officials
This news article suggests that Usa formed an inter agency Comm to review the fallout out of dk's case. Us is surprised by the strong response by Indian govt. White house., nsa, and judiciary reviewing the process. Possible role of judges complicate the matter.
This news item is from press trust of India. So expect a little bit of triumphalism.

It is a typical bombastic article reflecting a deep rooted insecurity and inferiority complex in India. None of the US media even care to report on this anymore. But the Indians want to indulge in mutual back pats that they brought the US to its (diplomatic) knees.

>> I am sure they are paying close attention to it, since there is a lot riding on it i.e. big market, strategic partnership against Chinese ambitions, untrustworthiness of Pakistan etc. Considering all that, the US media is underplaying it. Of course, the Indian media may be overplaying it as well. One of the local periodicals (I forget which) made an interesting point. The US has an asymmetrical advantage in terms of its diplomatic rights in many countries, which it does not reciprocate with respect to those countries' diplomats. This has been kind of accepted by these countries, since the US is a superpower and it has a higher chance of being harmed. With India reviewing this arrangement, this is going to be a bad precedent for other countries, which is not going to bode well for the US.

>>>Yeah, there is a bit of that, but judging from the responses to the articles, there is also a sense among many that a corrupt bureaucrat is getting her just desserts.Hellsangel wrote:It is a typical bombastic article reflecting a deep rooted insecurity and inferiority complex in India. It's hard to imagine that US Govt. didn't take a notice of the reciprocal moves made by the Indian Govt. The very fact that Kerry & Wendy Sherman took their time to reach out to their Indian counterparts suggests that the US was concerned.

The interesting thing was those who messed up on us side are of Indian origin: some desai girl at state and bharara at us attorney office.
I have no evidence but I am speculating that this bharara has an uncle who supports kalistan.

We should know that India cannot be trusted as a strategic partner.
We should help the breakup of India and cultivate strong allies among the independent nations like Punjab, Nagaland, WEst Bengal, Tamil Nadu.

>>> Would this loose knit alliance look for guidance to the vast repertoire of wisdom left behind by that visionary Captain P. on matters of governance and economics?

Zero tolerance for anything and everything was the hallmark of the Eelam.
