Republicans don't believe in the theory of evolution any less than Democrats believe in it more now

The data in the chart don't have much by way of change in beliefs over the last four years. But there is a big partisan difference in the level of belief in evolution by natural processes. And the difference has grown in these four years.

Actually these results should be considered natural. It shows similar beliefs were held by most Americans. But what it does not show is the beliefs system of core party activists.
If you take such statistics, lefty dems will show 80% evolution and tea party type republican core will show 80% anti evolution.
Sometimes you have to peel the onion to get to the truth.

i am still not sure you'll get to the real truth about what people actually think. republican politicians often have to lie about their true beliefs especially on matters of science, to appeal to the religious right. democratic politicians have no such problems (at least on this issue).
