  • Uttarayan: Gujarat

  • Maghi: Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab

  • Lohri: Punjab

  • Bhogali Bihu: Assam

  • Shishur Saenkraat: Kashmir Valley

  • Khichdi: Uttar Pradesh and western Bihar

happy makar sakranti (or whatever u call it), M.

Xmil had made til ki barfi for us, so been gorging on that. Took one extra to celebrate last night. Other than that, went to the temple on Sunday (XH's new thing). Is a nice new temple that's much closer to home than previous ones. Moreover, they have delicious free SI food as a fare. It tastes great even though they don't exactly keep it warm. Anyway, that serves as our dinner those days.

Note: Gave ample sweet pongal to son thinking it's (salty) khichdi. It came back in my plate soon enough. So poured sambhar all over it and had it that way. Not bad at all.

Mr. Indo, thanks for the whatever wishes..it's a nice PSI post!

Hmm...nice to see many (all?) familiar folks still around..Did not expect a whole lot of warmth and love, but, I guess, it is "out of sight - out of mind"..or old acquaintances showing me "don't feel like it- don't want to wish back"..or it's "pick a fight, then I'll talk to you"..

The next time I come by..well, there is always next time!
