On maintaining the purity of the form
Unlike the Lucknow and Jaipur gharanas of Kathak, the Banaras gharana was systematically ignored even when it came to setting up schools like Kathak Kendra. But that was also a blessing in disguise, because today the Jaipur gharana and Lucknow gharana are freely borrowing from each and there is no difference between the two in the students who have graduated from Kathak Kendra. Thus our gharana has remained untouched and free from these hybrid influences.
