distance Empty distance

Post by Guest Sat Feb 01, 2014 11:34 am

Distance can sometimes be amazing. It brings up the most positive thoughts in your mind. It makes you think everything is all right there. You assume the best case scenario. Just because you don't hear anything, means it must be good.

But then you start to question it. They were not good when you left. You really think people would change just because you are away? So what makes you think they must be living in peace and harmony now? Why do you think they have somehow stopped fucking up?

But that's the beauty that distance brings. The realist in you is out the door and the optimist comes forth, specially where there is no other way to find the truth either coz you cannot go back there or you don't want to deal with it.

There's a saying in Telugu: 'Like a cat drinking the milk with its eyes shut'. We may apply that to this situation. A cat drinking the milk keeps its eyes shut, blissfully unaware of everything else going on and believing that all is well.

Anyway, if there's nothing you can do to help if things are not going well, it's better to be an optimist and hope that everything is fine there.

>>>TW,

"Detached attachment" is the best policy when it comes to family members and friends.

Distance many times is not a matter of how many blcoks, miles etc you live away from a person. It can be psychological also. I had a relative who lived a block from us. But there was so much hatred and animosity from him and his children.

But I know a person who was 10000 miles away from his siblings. He calls them every day and spoke for hours.

Physical distance matters to some extent if the relationship is based on physical attraction. For the rest it depends on the parameters controlling that relationship.

For more details and analysis, need more details on the problem....

Haha. Ya sometimes in some situations that's what one may think too. But many times I have gone back and learned. A screwup is always a screwup. There has to be a huge change in their lives to make it better.

You misread his post and he did not clarify it misunderstanding your response.

Rish was talking about a different relative who spoke for hours with his siblings who lived 10,000 miles away...

P.S. My english is supreme.

you think the best or worst, depending on your own frame of mind - if you are at peace with your ownself, its best and if you ain't , it's the worst; not much to do with distance as just a phone call would do.

TW,

Bommai means doll or toy in Tamil.

If I remember correctly, this movie is about some bad guys placing a timebomb in a doll. And this doll somehow ends up with many people including a beggar who is blind. He starts singing about the doll and people give him money. The thrust of the song is everyone in this world is a doll and being played with by others.

The doll with the timebomb inside is being picked up all kinds of people and the movie keeps you in suspense wondering who is going to get blown up by it.

The movie was made in 1963.

Nowadays, terrorists in real life hide bombs in all sorts of things including underwear.

ya not sure of the relevance in this thread, unless FH is saying all that positiveness is merely a ticking time bomb.
