Several years ago, one of our Statistical Engineers had
developed what we refer to as GENERIC.SAS, a shell program
we use to start every new project. This program was developed
to prevent hardcoding, sets up all of the macros necessary to pull
in the most common variables and performs the standard
manipulations common to all of our programs.

Engineer is fast becoming one of the most abused word.

Dont you know that I dont need to know anything to comment on anything ?

So who is a Statistical Engineer ? One who engineers Statistics? One who uses statistics to solve engineering problems? Isn't statistics itself a tool for other fields ?

You have number theory, applied mathematicians, Computer science, Computer Engineer, computer applications...and you see the evolutionary process here. Where is the evolution in the field of statistics? Statistics itself is an offshoot of applied math when recognized as a power tool in itself. A field that makes sense of our observations and occurances of various incidents.

What the fyuck engineering has to do with it ?

P.S. I used to be a SAS coolie for a some years.
