A very revealing analysis. We all know this from our observations and stats confirm it.

Indian pace and spin bowlers cannot take wickets in odis and leak runs towards the end. Add that to dhoni's captaincy.
An occasional good batting performance and a rare good bowling performance will not help India win away matches.

Fletcher and dhoni were successful in finding decent prospects for future Indian batting. But they repeatedly failed to improve bowling.

Are there any short or long term solutions?
