How Raja Raja Chola showed the world that Hindians and Telugus are dunces
Once a combined army of Hindians and Telugus attacked the sacred and glorious land of Tamil Nad. At that time--unfortunately for the invaders-- Raja Raja Chola was ruling the sacred land. When Raja Raja heard of the invasion, he decided that the time has come to show the world that Hindians and Telugus are dunces and duffers. Consequently Raja Raja instructed his soldiers to turn away from the invading army and bend down with their bums protruding towards the invading army. When the invading army of Hindians and Telugus saw the protruding bums from a distance they thought--as Raja Raja had foreseen and predicted--that thousands of cannons are arrayed against them and in fear and terror they retreated and dispersed.

Sounds like the joke of 1962 with regard to another famous Tamilian Rajaji.
When Chinese invaded India in 1962, Rajaji said, "Don't worry, we will prevail because dharma is on our side."
The Chinese were scared $hit that he said that India had thermo-nuclear weapons, and they quickly retreated.
Moral of the story: A word is stronger than the sword.

The South was ruled by different SIs at different times. Parts of TN were ruled by Telugus, Kannadigas and even Maratis. Similar things happened in the other SI states. All regions prospered through such interactions. The only exception to this is the rule by monomaniacs. Take Telangana for example. The Nizams were self-serving monsters who kept the region more backward than BIMARU Bihar. While Nizam became the richest man in the world, his subjects were eating dirt. His legacy continued after Patel merged Deccan with India. The so called "doras" in Telangana are the leftovers of the feudal past. They became the current political leaders who lined their pockets (just like Nizam) while keeping the people dirt poor. The CON dynasty is doing the same in Rai Bareili, Amethi, etc. - talk about communalism, take their vote and ignore them after gaining power. The youngsters of India will eventually hang all these corrupt buggers.

VP, what is your opinion of Nawabs of Arcot? I hear the Nawabs gave a lot of funding to Hindu temples. Also the Nawabs are credited for having enriched Tamil cuisine.

Well, let me put it this way. If you eat sambar in the night, the next morning you will do a proper job. If you eat what Arcot baccha introduced, the whole neighborhood will flee if you attempt to do your morning job.

Are you saying Hyderabadis--who enjoy their Biryani--stink up their neighborhood in the mornings? Arcot Nawabs introduced, among other dishes, Arcot Biryani and Ambur Biryani in Tamil Nad.
