Frankly because we are convinced there can be no better person than us. If you do like someone else - you might have a genetic disorder (it will be discovered in 5 yrs).

Why should it be a surprise. 99% of women will cry, scream, whine, and complain if a man ever tells her that she is not as beautiful as another woman (even her own sister, mother, cousin, friend).

I cannot imagine why he wont accept it except if she wasnt as clear as she thought she was in stating or demonstrating that he's not the man she loves the most.
