Is this really groundbreaking?
Color Patterns could be easily observed by a passer by and later mis-used for hacking into the account..
The server still has to store the pattern and that can be hacked.

This was published recently in one of the tech magazines CNET or WIRED. A whole slew of alternatives are being considered - iris, voice, keyboard "pressure" pattern, and facial recognition etc.

There were tons of readers' comments discussing the drawbacks of each. As such, biometrics that use fingerprints have issues - especially, if it does not go through in 2 or 3 attempts (I disabled it in my system).
