RIP Mr. Mickey Rooney.

For a man who was not dashing or attractive..his cheerful and vibrant personality..more than compensated his screen presence and made him a ladies man:)

Although he worked with and married many glamorous Hollywood women..I
I always think about the great family movie "National Velvet".. when I think about him.. with the young 11-year old Elizabeth Taylor..who was always beautiful and never lost that girlish innocence..simply shined in the role of a jockey, overcoming barriers 70 years ago (1944).

If you like animals, esp. horses..this is def a movie for all children and adults.

According to wiki "In 2003, National Velvet was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant."

Good to see you post about Mr. Rooney, Dr. Seva!
