.....(Reuters) - Hindu nationalist Narendra Modi, the prime ministerial front-runner in the mammoth general election, on Sunday reiterated his strong stance against illegal immigrants, just days after a wave of sectarian killings in Assam.

Modi knows EC will act if he sought hindu votes directly (like the Cngress (iSlam) does to muslim voters). Attacking illegals is the most effective way to consolidate hindu votes and EC cant do diddly against him. Smart move.
