Bharatiya Janata Party's loose cannon Subramanian Swamy sparked off yet another controversy on Twitter after 'appointing' the party's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi a Brahmin.
"With the authority vested in me I hereby appoint Namo as a Brahmin since he has Brahminical gunas," Swamy tweeted from his handle @Swamy39, opening the floodgates of both scorn and back-slapping from fans and dissenters online.

When the COnmen wear topis and meet Mullahs and even are recognized as true muslims by the "genuine muslims", Diigy Dong claiming to be a Rama, and Sonia claiming to be a Sita and Durga and representative of "Indian culture" and act like a hindu by sporting tilak and attending pujas, nothing wrong in Modi being declared a Brahmin by Dr. Swaminatha Subramaniya Iyer.

Completely agreed Brahmin caste is supreme of all. I don't blame Swamy that probably was the first concept ingrained into his head by his Iyer parents; he can't shed it however hard he tries, must be something that comes out subconsciously.

The Maharajah of our town had a bunch of titles that sounded like these, some given by Golconda Tanesha, some by the Nizam of Golconda, and later some more by the British. He used to sport all his Persian-sounding titles before his name, and the British titles after his name. Some titles I remember:


Azaam maharaajah, Uzaaud dowla, Mabaabat assar, Yesal yaeminey, Salaamat samsamay, Khilaapate islam, Shree jhadkhand baadsha, joipore circar ----- the name his parents gave him --------- KCIE, OBE, OSI, etc., etc.
