so, I wonder if I changed my selection on the GOT pick, I would get a different answer. IDefix, on a completely unrelated not, do you have a HTC? I am having some issues with my phone and was on forums all morning, getting no where.

when I make or receive calls, I am not able to hear the person on the other end, they can hear me. started happening Sunday, randomly.

I thought it might have something to do with Bluetooth settings but turns out no. speaker mode does not work as well.

I do have a crack on my screen and will probably call in for a replacement but this is frustrating.

Any ideas? anyone else who has a HTC please feel free to contribute.

I have an 5+year old HTC touch in which I had to replace battery last year when I started having problems. I put an aftermarket -equivalent battery which was just few $ (from China). I have narrowed down to Kyocera Hdro vibe (waterproof ) for my next phone.

Does the problem occur also when you just use the phone not in speakerphone mode, without bluetooth? Also, did you try with the ear bud thingy that comes with the phone? If it happens in speakerphone mode, with the ear buds, with a bluetooth device, and in normal phone mode, then I suspect it is a software glitch. Updating the phone software should help... go to Settings->System updates. You can also try restoring the phone to factory settings from Settings->Backup and data -- after backing up your data of course.

That was my last resort. But as I said, the screen does have a crack and I have insurance. So, debating to just replace it. Thanks, all.
