The problem with these type of arguments is that bjp is like a cm apppointed by Sonia and he will revolt if given an opportunity to grab power.
Bjp and modi equation with rss is not a master slave relationship. It is more like a communist party relationship where party politburo wants to control affairs . But all these organizations end up centralizing power.
Invidual differences may exist between bjp leaders and rss leaders. Unlike vajpayee govt there is no gap between modi govt and rss. Rss does not need to remote control. They have their man in control.
this remote control is a media favorite and is one of those lazy theories that will be repeated hundreds of times.
The truth is rss won and it is running the country with its best candidate.
