I am south Indian and I am eating pita chips and hummus. just saying. looks like nothing no thread here gets a rating unless it has the words south and Indian in it.

Have you abandoned your roots? South Indian chips such as chilly sprinkled potato chips, spiced plantain chips, jackfruit chips, tapioca chips, etc not good enough for you?

Oh, okay. Looks like you took a different literal meaning. I meant roots as in cultural roots - not edible roots.

Well Pita chips is from the South. Hummus is peanuts and again from the South.

Hummus is made from chick peas aka kabuli chana. So it is definitely a northindian - much worse in fact as it is an Islami item due to it's Kabuli connection. It is traitorous for Southern Indians to eat it but as a wise man said, all good things are sinful so this one falls in the same category.

Yeah Hammus has Chick peas...agree...
