We goundars dont pretend. we are polite, brave, honest anjaaNenjans.
his name indicates he is a proponent of G-N (Goundar-Naicker) synthesis.

Re: perumal murugan
what about ramanathan krishnan, the tennis player? ramanathan is another name for shiva, and krishnan is well, krishnan. was he confused too?
perumal murugan may sound confused, but if he had a middle name, marugan, that would be a poetic and meaningful name -- perumal marugan, murugan.

Re: perumal murugan
the court ruled in his favor:
http://www.thehinducentre.com/multimedia/archive/02922/Perumal_Murugan_Ju_2922046a.pdf
the final sentence of the verdict is heartening:
"“Let the author be resurrected to what he is best at. Write.”
i hope prof.murugan will find it in himself to write again without self-censoring. i found a copy of the controversial book in the tamil original a few days ago, although the publisher pulled it. i look forward eagerly to reading it. english translations are available on kindle on amazon. it has been translated by aniruddhan vasudevan, who is a bharathanatyam dancer.

BUrkhs Dutt interviewed him this morning. I don't particularly like his views.

Re: perumal murugan
the last para reads
“With nothing to do I lay dazed night and day,” he said. “But as I ruminated over my existence, there came a certain instant when the sluice gates were breached. I began to write. I chronicled the moment when I felt like a rat, dazzled by the light, burrowing itself into its hole.” The result was a book of poetry that went on sale on Monday, titled “Kozhayin Paadalkal,” or “Songs of a Coward.”
wow! nothing could be more inspiring than this, for sapna : to lament about his eternal struggle on coming to terms with tambrahms; his ramblings may be most appropriately titled "Kozhaiyin kEval"
in addition to 'coward', 'kozhai' also means phlegm- what a perfect match!
