Right now the total reservations are capped at 50%. He wants to raise it to 64% by raising muslims reservation from 4% to 12%, and adding a separate Christian reservation. The justification is that Tamilnadu has 69% reservation quotas. Is there any other state in 60+% reservation level for the "underprivileged" classes?

TN has no separate Muslim or Christian Quote. Its 69% includes everything including ST/SC.

KCR's bump is the key constitutional question about quotas for Muslims, Christians. Sikhs, Budhists, and Jains are covered under quota by claiming/including them as "part of" the broad hindu pantheon. Otherwise they will become ineligible.

Perhaps Christians and Muslims will agree to be called Christian Hindu and Muslim Hindu and avail their quota.

That will also develop H-M-C synthesis..Razz

Is KCR trying to grab the pieceful vote-bank from MIM?  TRS hasn't been successful in getting elected from Hyderabad. He knows that the majority of voters in the city despise him. So, he may be trying to woo voters in the old city (40% of the population) and in other districts where the sikular vote-bank is sizable. However, his anti-Andhra rhetoric won't work with that crowd. If he is willing to bark like Akbaruddin against Hinduism, he may get into some stiff competition with Akbaruddin and other ex-Razaakars. He is better off to pigout at iftar parties in districts outside Hyderabad, go home and get drunk.

The Supreme Court should just declare all the caste and religion based reservations / quotas in education and jobs in the country as illegal and unconstitutional to put an immediate end to this vote-bank nonsense.
