AP wants to start ANNA canteens borrowing the idea from successful AMMA canteens in TN. 
Since KCR is never far behind whatever Naidu does, he may start AKKA canteens in putting his dear daughter Kavitha in charge of the project.

I have a question:

Will all these Amma/Akka/Anna/ Appa canteens will be allowed to compete in each otehr's states? That will be revolutionary.

TN does that... half the bu transport is government owned by divided into several divisions - each operated as a separate entity. These local divisions have to make deals on routes and schedules to ply into other divisions - just like airlines do. TN bus transport companies are some of the most profitable ones ever since this strategy was started way back in the 70s.

As that lady in the video is saying, in TN there is also volunteerism involved in these plans. That's kind of hard to replicate. You need strong passion and commitment for that.

I doubt they will be allowed to compete. There are budget outlays and the aim is to run them in a way to to make the income = outgo.

CBN can sell idli, vada, sambar, rasam and dosE for cheap by just imitating Jaya but can Kavitakka sell biriyani and haleem at low prices? Knowing her, she will only do things if there are kickbacks.

May be CBN is trying to copy Jaya just to force KCR to sell biriyani and halem at lower than cost! It is a bit like the Indian and Paki asking God for boons that will just hurt the opponent.

I don't know about haleem, but biriyani can be priced cheap as some dhabas have shown. However, they were caught using rendered oil (i.e., derived from dead animals). Those oils are not fit for consumption; they are good only for soap making, stuff used in massages etc.

I don't know how they make biriyani or haleem. May be Carvaka can explain.

So, the dhabas are imitating Chinese - Chinese were putting melamine in milk for infants.

Why should govt do any such restaurants?
India has a great tradition of successful hotels.
nair coffee, udipi hotel, punjabi dabba, andhra brahmin bhojanam and nellore reddy military hotel are all very successful. did not cost any tax payer money.why some thing that is successful and generates profits should be messed up by govt interfetence.

The big plus in TN is ADMK and DMK have ultra-dedicated cadres who are antagonistic to each other and ultra loyal to their "leaders" Also, with partial funding, the canteens hire disadvantaged permanent employees (like handicapped, widow, etc..etc..) who supervise dedicated groups of volunteers. And, I think Amma has made sure corruption does not get into these Amma businesses in the form of contracts and substandard supplies. Her votes depend on these. So, in a way this may be very hard to replicate in other states.
