Ya, I read that news y'day and wanted to post it here. Dumb instructor and totally dumb parents! I feel sorry for the little girl. She has to live with this horrific thing her entire life, for no fault of hers. Major child abuse there.

he let her fire one bullet and presumably she was able to control the recoil. then he had her go on fully auto mode to fire off multiple bullets. a little less obsession with firearms and a little more physics education could have saved his life.

At-least he died doing something he loves! This is no different than a mountaineer slipping and falling to his death on a mountain or a surfer falling victim to a shark. Why don't we see posts denouncing mountain climbing or surfing when such incidents happen?

One of the comments for the article. Many reflected the same and i feel the same too. What were the parents and the instructor thinking?

As a Retired Marine that has had the opportunity to shoot many, many firearms this incident was a completely irresponsible BAD choice. I know what the recoil is on this type of firearm and this was totally irresponsible on the parents behalf and on the behalf of the firearms instructor. This weapon is meant for only adults and people with prior firearms experience... you wouldn't put a 9 year old on a Harley Davidson Motorcycle if she is just learning to ride a bike without training wheels so why on Earth would you put this weapon in the hands of an inexperienced CHILD.
How horrible that this young girl will now have to live with the fact that she killed another person.
