Convert and You Will go to Heaven, Pakistani Cricketer Told Dilshan
http://sports.ndtv.com/cricket/news/229281-pakistan-probe-into-ahmed-shehzad-tillakaratne-dilshan-religious-chat?pfrom=home-topstories
While the players were walking back to the dressing room in Dambulla, Sri Lanka, Shehzad was caught on camera telling Dilshan "if you are a non-Muslim and you turn Muslim, no matter whatever you do in your life, straight to heaven."
Dilshan's reply was not audible, and Shehzad went on to say, "Then be ready for the fire."

No wonder they do "whatever" in this life due to this cockiness.
Don;t they know there is no freebies in this world. If a muslim wants to go to heaven - straight - then he has to experience hell here on earth before that. perhaps, the non-muslims should do an islamic state on the iSlamis starting with stoning.

>>>I have heard Benazir Bhutto talk about heaven in a TV interview. She said she would see her "aunty-ji" there and I forget maybe her "daddy-ji" too. Benazir was educated at Harvard and Oxford, for the record.

dont knock such a question - it has potential to change lives.
to wit, one of the current SUCH handles used to be a crazed chaddi and had a epiphany when someone he met fed him some excellent kebabs and changed his mind about muslims. he has been working tirelessly on the internets to promote the ummah to non-ummah ever since with the zeal of the newly converted.

why are you conflating intolerance of a cricketer with a belief in the afterlife? you must know that in the indian (and probably other south asian) context, education has little to do with religious beliefs. highly educated and skilled doctors, CEOs of corporations, and judges believe in reincarnation, heaven, hell etc. the particular phrasing of aunty-ji and daddy-ji from a former PM of pak is no doubt amusing, but belief in the afterlife is not unique.

But, the Abrahamic religions (includes Allahish ones) dont believe in reincarnation and their followers are committing a sin if they believed in them. That too, a Musalman should never, never ever believe in meeting Aunty-ji, Daddy-ji.
She was neither educated nor a religious person - that is what I am just saying. Perhaps, she once said she loved her appammaji very much and perhaps, it is her hindu influence that made her believe in the reincarnation.

What he really implied was "be ready for kabooms"

>>>I was just pointing out that a pedigreed, political leader like Bhutto with her fancy degrees shared a child-like belief in heaven with this cricketer. In and of itself, the invoking of divinity and afterlife is probably par for the course for politicians the world over and it usually rolls off the back with most people. In this context, what made it jarring is the sociopolitical context with a preoccupation with martyrdom. The question in fact came up in the context of potential danger to her life. The aunty-ji comment just made it funny and is probably the reason this got lodged in my memory bank. The irony here is the question proved to be prescient and the woman has been declared a martyr by her followers.
