Tough guy Modi is the man of the moment for wealthy Indian Americans
http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2014/sep/26/narendra-modi-indian-americans-anti-muslim-pogromThe Indian prime minister Narendra Modi’s first tour of the United States begins today. On Sunday he will speak to a reported sell-out crowd of up to 20,000 Indian Americans at New York City’s Madison Square Garden. Some of these guests will have paid $50,000 for the privilege. Indeed enthusiasm is considerable for the arrival of a man who until recently was banned from entry into the US.
For wealthy sections of Indian America, Modi represents a strong man who evokes pride in India. When Modi brags about his 56-inch chest, his machismo indicates India’s arrival in world affairs. Poverty is swept away by his braggadocio. Eyes are averted from the slums and instead rest upon his promises to toss environmental and labour laws in the dustbin. Trains will run on time, workers obey their supervisors and the armed forces will spread their testosterone along India’s borders. Experiences of racism and discrimination inside the US will be forgotten in the presence of Modi. If America sees Modi’s toughness, say his US supporters, the petty humiliations of life in the west will vanish.
-> Looks like another bitter loser who fails to recognize that Bhagavan Krishna of Bhagavad Gita has arrived.

CD, events in life are strange.
There WILL BE a day when your heart stops and you'll be gone. What remains (for a few days, months, decades) will be these words you post...and then they too will be gone.
I'm sure words like "Bhagvad Gita" and "Bhagavan Krishna" WILL last longer. There'll be folks who'll by him while others who'll swear at him.
It does not matter what they do. It only matters today how countries make their choices based on their preferences today. That's all.

That's precisely what I do unlike Modiji who likes to dwell on the past.southindian wrote:CD, events in life are strange.

Do you agree with the Muslim PETA members seeking meatless celebration on Eid?

No he does not.... Your perceptions are your own, though he makes a point mentioning past as reference.confuzzled dude wrote:That's precisely what I do unlike Modiji who likes to dwell on the past.southindian wrote:CD, events in life are strange.

How many times have YOU not dwelled on Mr. Modi's past and made your judgment based on Modi's current actions, speeches. How many times?

Death threats have now become like sweets that I see distributed during ramadan.
