Leading TV anchor Rajdeep Sardesai was today roughed up apprently by pro-Modi supporters outside the Madison Square Garden, shortly before the Prime Minister’s address.


The news created quite a buzz on social networking site Twitter after @JFK_America posted, “Mob of people attacking an Indian journalist for being critical of Modi on the past. Accused if being a traitor”.

Sardesai, who quit as the editor-in-chief of IBN 18 Network in July, tweeted, “Great crowd at Modison square garden! except a few idiots who still believe abuse is a way of proving their machismo!”
He added, “Glad we caught the idiots on cam. Only way to shame the mob is to show them”. Sardesai also posted, “Great publicity for my book. All those who took selfies have promised to buy it!”
The small video of him being manhandled hit YouTube and was shared numerous times on Twitter.

Let me prove why Doucheman is the biggest drama queen douche on this board! The below video clearly shows that Rajdeep Sardesai was the first person to try to assault someone. This is what happened:

Rajdeep called a guy in the crowd as asshole.

Guy responded, "You are an asshole too!"

Rajdeep tried to hit the guy, and the guy jostled back. The crowd separated the two people. Clearly, Rajdeep is the violent culprit here. Caught on video!

Modi Bhakta Some Poopile's video is incomplete ( as was the shorter video which I posted). The longer video ( which is also incomplete) I posted showed Modi Bhaktas heckling and abusing Rajdeep.
It seems Rajdeep took the abuse for some time but when the Bhaktas kept on abusing and heckling then he reacted to the abuse.

This proves what I said about chaddis: they are the most timid bunch individually, deriving their courage to inflict violence only when in big numbers.

On his twitter page, Rajdeep has endorsed this particular facebook post which describes the entire incident. The pushing and shoving began from the frenzied NaMo supporters and there was a reason why the Chaddi mob was so angry with Rajdeep:

It's all out there in the videos. Rajdeep guy and the india today ppl can't fake even when they edit out the scuffle part (where Rajdeep was clearly the rougue). Ppl are not fools. The facts are before them. Rajdeep was clearly on a provocative note right from the beginning. Look at the kind of questions he posed to the indian americans and then to the white guy too, trying to degrade Modi as much as he can and when the white dude was talking favorably abt Modi, he couldn't take it anymore and tries to cut off the guy. Modi is the PM of India, not some electoral candidate. Pls give some respect to your own PM, esp when on a foreign land, talking to foreign nationals. It seemed to me that Rajdeep was deliberately provoking the crowd. The next question was totally absurd:
"Did you pay for your ticket?" "Did you pay for your ticket?" "Did you pay for your ticket?" He asked this to many people who replied in the negative. Here's why. Madison Square Gardens has a seating capacity of 20,000...out of which 18,000 seats were given out free to anyone who wanted to view the event and registered for the same on time. The rest of the seats were donor seats with high price tags. So obviously a majority of the people wouldn't have paid for their ticket. What was the relevance of this question?
Section of crowd gets irritated with his line of questioning and starts chanting "Modi, Modi..."
Rajdeep turns around and asks some of the others in the crowd: "Many people say Indian Americans talk a lot but don't do anything..why doesn't the Indian American community do more for India?"
OK, now what exactly is Rajdeep trying to do here? Who are these "some people"?. could you not give proper names Rajdeep? This is not a a government secret that you have to hide your "sources". Anyhow, its clear by name that Mr Sardesai is simply provoking a crowd. For what reason? Is Rajdesai frustrated that the man who he rallied against for more than a decade in his news reporting and editorials is now the PM of India and getting a rockstar reception in the US?
As more of the crowd starts chanting "Modi Modi" Rajdeep goes to that section, slightly intimidated and tries to engage them..but they show no interest in taking more of his questions. He blurts out: "I am here..you are here...this is America" I forgot what he asked next but it sounded funny.
After the crowd got louder with chants of "Modi Modi" and "Rajdeep Murdabad", Rajdeep turns around..visibly agitated, and asks them:
"Did Narendra Modi ask you to behave badly? Did America tell you to behave badly?"

Almost all media outlets have covered this event in favour of Rajdeep and against the crowd, saying the crowd had no right to turn violent, whatever the provocation.
But thanks to cellphone camera and ever vigilant citizen journalists, we now have the complete video of the scuffle, where Rajdeep calls someone in the crowd an asshole, gets called asshole in return. Then that someone says something to Rajdeep which provokes him enough to physically hit that person. The Rajdeep Sardesai video no one will post on youtube or Social Media!
Rajdeep was already trending on twitter after what happened earlier in the day before the Modi's speech at the Madison Square Garden. You guys saw that the video, didn't you. (This was shot before PM arrived at Madison Square Garden)
But this is the episode that no one will tell you about, and in fact, I DARE EVERY ONE OF YOU WHO RECORDED THIS BUT WON'T POST IT FOR REASONS NOT TO BE NAMED.
The Story Part II ( Right after the event at Madison Square Garden)
I was at Times Square when I heard or in fact read about it as the screen out there flashed a tweet about Rajdeep's episode earlier in the day.
Once done interviewing and usual stuff, took a walk down to Madison Square Garden. The Venue where Rajdeep was heckled in the morning.
By the time I reached, the speech was still on, so took a pit-stop right across the street at my hotel to charge the batteries of my cell phone and my digicam.
I return, interviewed a couple of people on their way out. But while I interviewed the last family, I hear some noise, quite different from 'Har Har Modi' or the 'Modi Modi' chant across the 7th Avenue. I turn around only to find Rajdeep Sardesai and a senior cameraperson in the middle of a mob trying to calm down a group of approximately 50 people around him.
My first Reaction: Are these guys for real?
Second reaction: To see if any other TV crew was there, none
I barge in, just to check if Rajdeep was alright. Yes, he was. Smiling, calm, and trying to reason out a crowd which wasn't prepared to listen to anything he said. Then the pushing and shoving begins. A barrage of abuses follow.
Why?
Probably because of Rajdeep's tweet about an influential person staying in the same hotel as Narendra Modi's
The mob called him by names and hurled the choicest of words towards him. When I tried to shield the fellow journalist, I realised, that I became a target as well. This went on for good 10-15 minutes. The NYPD was right there, but won't blame them for not knowing what was going on in the middle of that crowd of 50 odd people. The cameraman had to ensure his equipment was safe, so was trying his best he could, to fend off a few people who tried to come closer to Rajdeep. This went on for good 10 minutes.
Despite my repeated requests to stay away from Rajdeep, the mob continued to shout pro-Modi slogans right in front of his face to instigate him. A particular person wearing glasses, and once again in an orange attire, almost shoved his phone into the cameraman's lens to which Rajdeep protested.
Luckily, fellow scribes Mohit Roy Sharma and Bhupendra Chaubey arrived at the scene. Three of us literally made a human chain, to get Rajdeep out of that place.
I'm sure all of this is on tape as the cameraman might have stopped recording, but the PCR back in India would have everything that transpired in front of that camera lens.
I say this with conviction that a lot of people had their cameras rolling as well. The abuses, the pushing and shoving, and the instigation, all on tape.
Yes, you have every right to be a supporter, but let's not mix a fan with a fanatic. Learn to respect other people. Learn to respect to earn respect. Just a few minutes ag o, the Prime Minster delivered a lovely speech about peace and how India is a great democracy. But you guys defy all logic.
I hope this post is shared and reaches all the people who saw the second episode right in front of their eyes and captured it on their cameras.
Look inside you, and just think what you did and ponder upon what you could have done.

Read what i wrote, Rashmun. This Rajdeep guy has an agenda. He wants take the limelight of Modi's popularity in US and wants to create something negative and focus only on that. He deliberately provokes the crowd and attacks them and then focuses only on the one who reacts to him being called an asshole. India Today clearly blocks out the part where Rajdeep calls the other an asshole and later on releases the part (the same lil 11 sec part that you posted) where the guy reacts to Rajdeep's manhandling. They again, clearly cut the portion where Rajdeep attacks the other person first. What kind of dishonest journalism is this? This shows their bias very clearly. Let them and Rajdeep have the guts to show everything unedited and let ppl decide. Let them not release only bits and pieces which they use to further their propaganda.

Indian journalists are the worst of its kind in the world. No integrity!

The guy in orange clothes seems to have said sorry about what he did--as per senior journalist Bhupendra Chaubey--otherwise Rajdeep may have called the cops.

They should've called the cops then and there and got that Rajdeep guy arrested. They shouldn't have let him off.

ya, too bad they just let him go. They probably didn't want to make this into a big issue. That was the mistake they made. Somebody in the crowd was crying out to call the police. Everyone was in an excited mood to go to the venue, so nobody cared to call them. They probably didn't expect this guy to around and turn the tables on them.
Nothing is lost now. There's this video that exposes Rajdeep guy and puts him to shame. It's out there for the world to see. Shame on him!

IMO, his provocations themselves were carefully orchestrated attempts fully funded by his masters (not necessarily India Today but the Global Lib Lefts and their Indian Bootlickers and Chamchas - likes of which are also here on SuCH) to elicit a certain kind of response from an emotionally charged crowds. If these Chamchas have any guts, as you seem to imply, let them do similar experiments at any SRK or ARR starred events and post the mob response.

i watched all the videos. The India Today video clearly shows Bhaktas heckling and abusing Rajdeep but it does not show any scenes of physical violence. The complete video of what happened has not yet been released by anyone as of now. My guess is that the BJP has requested India Today group not to show the complete video. Moreover, the bhakta with whom Rajdeep had a physical altercation also seems to have apologized to Rajdeep (as per what some are saying on twitter including the well known journalist Bhupendra Chaubey). Rajdeep has probably decided to forgive the hate-filled, fanatical Bhakta--after he received an unconditional apology-- and move on.

India today released the second part of the altercation video. It edited the first part where Rajdeep started calling the guy an asshole and hit him.

In the video that IT posted, a bjp leader and others around apologized to Sardesai with a big heart ( i am sure, at that time they didn't know that Sardesai was the one who started it). But the sardesai guy didn't take any of it, went on to play victim and tried to malign modi supporters. Now he's biting the dust as the video taken by the bystanders came out and he's exposed.

Anyway, you are (trying to play) dumb and ignorant and i can't keep on going on and on with this. I rest my case here. It's for ppl to see and recognize the hypocrisy of it all. All good for Modi and his supporters.
