Looting the public is not the monopoly of regular docs. 'Specialists' need to make a living too...

Quoting Thirvalluvar does not preclude Ron Hubbard or Sadhguru from needing to make a living.

isn't that the job for their disciples?Hellsangel wrote:Quoting Thirvalluvar does not preclude Ron Hubbard or Sadhguru from needing to make a living.
Re: First mental Health Plan in India
Sadhguru/Isha have made their financials (guidestar.org) public while Ron Hubbard has not. So even if Thiruvalluvar or Pathanjali comes in front of us, we might ask them to travel by bullock carts, live in huts/forests and would like to see their tax returns/wealth disclosure before we hear them.Hellsangel wrote:Quoting Thirvalluvar does not preclude Ron Hubbard or Sadhguru from needing to make a living.

I know FH has posted in this thread because I saw his name as the last post but I haven't seen his post, but if I were to guess, I'd say he is advocating sadhguru as a cheaper alternative to a mental health plan. Now I'll read his post to find out how close I was.

Re: First mental Health Plan in India
Sometimes I wonder about people who are in denial or just plain lucky and don't have to deal with issues most human beings do (at this time). The denial, stigma-attached to Mental illnesses and ignorance is something..even among the educated.
Almost all human beings- they themselves or know someone love and care about who suffers from some kind of mental condition and need some professional help..and hope there are sources: with alternatives and choices available, accessible and affordable.
*To think "this can never happen to us" is foolish and a rude awakening often follows. As in every field there are good and bad mental health professionals..but, the mental health needs are enormous and only growing.
Whatever the source(s) may be, the "holistic approach" (mind and body) is the most effective, imo.

I was not suggesting anything max hoped for but here you go..
And if someone does not like SG, former IPS officer Kiran Bedi (I guess before she met SG) introduced Meditation in Tihar Jail (when she was managing it), and has seen tremendous improvement among the prisoners. While Pathological/physiological issues DOES need medication there is no denying that they need professional help.
