A warning
I posted this in response to a question from Tracy, but it is buried in a thread about something else. As the admin here, I feel that it is my responsibility to alert the users about a potential risk to the privacy of their personal information.
Yes, but (s)he can only see the people who are actively on the site when
(s)he goes into a particular page on the admin panel. This is the
reason I have been limiting admin logins to periods of very low activity
(weekend late nights), so that I wouldn't inadvertently see the IP
addresses of a bunch of users.
Before you click
links on Rashmun's forum, you need to be comfortable with Rashmun being
able to see your IP address. From his behavior on CH, it is clear that
he is capable of rationalizing to himself any behavior as long as he
thinks he is under attack. So if he believes he is under attack from
you, all bets may be off regarding your privacy.

My response to Charvaka:
--> With respect to privacy i would just like to point out that even
in a recent fight on Sulekha CH when Huzefa Kapasi took my name when
attacking me--and which made it possible for hellsangel to keep using my
name in attacking me with Admin Charvaka looking the other way--i
never took HK's real name. Never have and never will.
--> it is sad to see Charvaka indulging in character assassination just because i started another forum.

--> how much interest Charvaka has in privacy protection was evident when he participated in several threads in which hellsangel kept using my real name. When told by Max that this was not proper, Admin Charvaka (who happens to be a bit of a clown) said that he had given negative votes to Hellsangel for using my real name!

Re: A warning
I would like to add to my original warning. The deceptive manner in which Rashmun promoted his forum in the beginning should also give users pause. Instead of telling people that he had started a new site, he created a forum that mimics the look and feel of this forum, down to the logo. It is only when users tried to reply to his post on his new forum and failed, that he admitted to posting a link to a new forum.

This would have been a valid criticism if the logo would have been designed by Charvaka. Except that it is not. The logo being used on the such.forumotion.com and http://sulekha.forumotion.com boards is taken from the chaikaapi forum:

It would? You have "established" that I didn't design it, so who do you think designed the chaikaapi forum?Rashmun wrote:charvaka wrote:I would like to add to my original warning.
