Further to this discussion, the use and misuse of caste and religion, including the so called “tribal” status, will not subside and end in society if the Govt. and politicians continue to use them for votes through quotas (in education and jobs etc.), censuses (enumerating people according to caste and religion) and official status designations (as in these proposed websites # 2, 3 etc.), as I had indicated some time ago in the following blog,

Incidentally, the humans all over the world (including in India) initially, after evolving from apes in the jungles, started as tribes (http://www.geocities.ws/lamberdar/_caste.html). This indicates that we all have tribal roots. Practically, no Govt. in the world (except perhaps in India) cares about the tribal origins of their citizens, and that is for a very and practical reason (people should not be permanently stuck with the mindset as tribal) . In any case, are the authorities in India ready to issue tribal status certificates to all the citizens, considering everyone in the country had his / her ancestors at one time or other living in tribes?

Caste and tribal status websites need to be removed, no matter what the language.

I received a couple of emails on this topic (caste and tribal status certificates by Govt.) from my IIT batchmates, copied below.

Email 1: "the digital version of these documents were available from different local governments, state governments and central governments since 2005, when the I.T.Act was passed. These services are not introduced from the present govt.'s time. "

Email 2: "in Caste/ Tribal matters the Modi Govt. appears to be more retarded than the previous ones as Central Board of Secondary Education has now allowed students to get their caste quoted on their class 10 certificates. Won't this increase polarization in a classroom.at a tender age ."
