Smriti sends silk sarees as Diwali gifts to women in her constituency. No, she didn't buy them with CON-type black money. She paid from her own pocket.

While she probably is keeping her promise that she will do something for the constituency even if she lost her election, this is not the right way to do something for the constituency.

Her personal money could have been better spent for some other purposes. Assuming 1000 Rs per Saree, it translates to around 1.5 Crores, enough to start a clinic or fund some cleaning projects OR water harvesting project.

Less scope for kickbacks in the schemes you mention.
