Have you lately asked your US born desi child, what his/her perception of history is?

They talk of agriculture and soon jump to guns!

Shocking.

Western authors of Indian subcontinent history and civilization have totally missed it, or presented it as it "suits them".

Desi kids in US are not aware of Harappa Civilization, or what even first civilizations to mankind mean, of Nalanda University as the first University in the world.

Dinosours, caves, learn fire, and jump to an Industrial world with guns, and advanced technology.

History in western world jumps from passion for gigantic dinosours, straight to now.

Its a shame, as an Indian (or Chinese), or anyone who knows that civilized world started and lasted 1000s of years in between caves and guns, that US education system misses.

At least with 3 wives, Akbar is a classic example within Indian history, as to how history is twisted over time including Bollywood to have Hrithik play his character - He took drugs regularly, and when walking he slightly dragged the left leg, as if he were lame.  His head drooped a little towards the right shoulder.  A small wart about half the size of a pea which connected the left nostril with the upper lip. Akbar actually is responsible for various genocides in North India, esp. Rajputs, whose women started jumping in fire to avoid rape from his soldiers aka Jauhar.

That is ONE way to look at history.

Summary:

History and historical books are nothing but whether TS writes about Maxi, or Maxi writes about TS.

Random cautions,
TS.
