This is what I'd do with leftovers.

That's a very desi pijja hut with Bheri delicious pijha. But hopeless soups. In other words I am in your land.

Why is it called Rawalpindi? Isn't that a pakistani city?

I've seen someone have paneer dunked in mint chutney as the topping for a pizza. Must be good.

My MIL can't eat a pizza without smearing (indian) pickle over it. Smile

It's a name of the dish Rawalpindi Chana meaning cooked in that style with paneer, etc. (trust XH to spot that in the menu and order it). I liked it and so did others. Some kids thought it was too spicy.

Lol at pickle over pizza.

ya tw is right. pindi chole (with bhature) is pretty famous. origin rawalpindi (sikhs for rawalpindi was a sikh stronghold before partition). it is distinctive by it's black colour (acquired by tea bags used in the dish). calling the topping "rawalpindi" chana is only to make it sound exotic! it's not any chana, it is RAWALPINDI chana.... le halwa... Shocked

interestingly, i had my best friend from college over for lunch last week. he is an american born andhraite brahmin; his wife is bengali though not american born. both were my friends in college and they live in manhattan. his wife flipped out on the sarson saag we had made with makke rotis. after taking the recipe, she was obsessed if she'd get mustard leaves in usa. intrigued, i had the left overs again next day to see if it was THAT good. it was really good! we added no spinach to the sarson saag (mustard leaves curry). my friend, on the other hand, raved about the kakori kebabs we had ordered.
