everything that happens in NY city gets bigger news coverage. 5.8 earthquake that caused mild tremors in NY is big news. Hurricane level 1 is major national news.

is it because north east has the biggest slice of US population or is it because North east has the biggest TV audience?

Currently North east has slight cloud cover and few drops of rain. No winds. It may get bad a later today. Expecting power outages and downed trees. But I expect we will survive.

Agree...the Media (and the) mafia smell money all the time and sensationalize even the slightest incident - hurricane, EQ, terrorist attack, Free flowing traffic, etc.

With the hurricane already onshore, it may be just a little more than some severe rains for a few hours.

Looks like you posted this on a break at Akron or Younsgtown.

By the time you reach NJ, rain water would hv disappeared (hopefully). Even more hopefully, your basement is not flooded and the power is on, and your husband is being a good watchman at home.
