...i hate you. one of the very very very few with power and no basement flooding. everyone else is in my home. i am sittin in a corner nursing my leg and trying to pretend that i am the cool hipster with sooo many people[20] in my home and blood is coming out of one eye seeing my dishwasher being taken for a ride...i know, i'll get over it for it is just a dishwasher, wait also my washer and dryer...fine.

my cousin who is an hour away has no power with a flooded basement and she CANNOT leave because of flooded roads..

No..srsly, when there are lot of people in the house, i switch over to paper cups and plates. reduces the after party work significantly.

But, Irene has brought a lot of rains for the farmers in PA and VA, and the country needs the agricultural output to shore up the economy...

Imagine the amount of economic activity this Irene will create in NJ. DC/NY with all those local jobs for electricians and construction people...

This is the stimulus package that is given without even asking.

Now that we've won the war against corruption and there are so many candles to be used (and so little time), we the citizenry of Mumbai have decided to express solidarity with the Irene-victims of North East USA by getting just as flooded by non-stop rains through Saturday, Sunday and now Monday morning.

raining a lot in pune, too. most of the alternative road to my office is washed away. i am leaving here before 6 or after 9 to avoid jams. looking outside, it does not seem like the rain is going to stop anytime today.

so, after Wednesday, i declare a state of emergency for my home and generally stuff will not be operational until further notice, areas affected will include kitchen, downstairs bathroom, two bedroom upstairs, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer...
