The recent job market numbers show that private sector is inching along. But Govt job cuts are killing any prospect of recovery. Schools, local govts and state govts are cutting with vengeance. Cutting is popular with Republican state leaders and all of them want to kill any recovery till after 2012. Even Obama's tax cut proposals are being rejected by Eric Cantor republican house leader without serious debate.

The error in Obama's strategy is that he seem to be too eager to get the deal and republicans are forcing his hand to give up too much. He is probably placing on table what his final negotiating proposal and republican's are simply refusing to join the party. Obama is forced to give up all stimulus ideas to get one or two immediately needed actions. Obama has not yet found a strategy where he can propose something they cannot refuse.
