ODIs in south africa - 1, 16, 1 = 18 runs in all (average - 6)
(one) test in africa - 19, 9 = 28 runs in all (average - 14)
tests in WI (hahaha) - 8, 0, 11, 3, 5, 45 = 72 runs in all (average - 12)

what a loser. his losergiri is well documented.

He has been pathetic, no doubt. I have a feeling, the IPL stints have gone to his head a bit.

Vijay started off well int erms of temperament. His attempts around the time he got out seemed rash and impatient. However later comments from FLetcher and Dhoni seem to suggest that they may have snet signals to increase run rate.

Lot of Indian players have failed in the first round of test experience. rare are people like Vishwanath, Gavaskar, Tendulkar, Azharuddin who can impress right away and go on to become great players. Gambhir, Yuvraj, even Sehwag and Zaheer tasted failure and came back.

Young indians have to learn that hitting the big leagues is one thing but learning to continue to improve is the key to long term success. Players like Dravid, tendulkar still seems to be good students of the game and keep improving. Vijay, Kohli and others should play a year or two in county cricket in england.

i agree with T here. IPL money has gone to what he thinks is his head. you should have seen him in the IPL. too casual and with the attitude as if he has achieved everything in life. dancing foolishly after claiming a catch and at times taking some catches too lightly (and spilling them) - he has done everything even kambli would not do. he is going uthappa/kambli way. he was asked to perform in SA and WI and he has failed. time to kick him out. we don't need a flat-track bully.

Agreed, time is on his side. Even Zaheer had attitude problems, he did a turn around, we can hope the same of Vijay. When I talk of his attitude, it is not just his batting but is overall demeanour in the field too. The increase in the run rate you are talking about might hold true of the last innings, situation demanded that and interestingly that also happened to be his highest score of the season. I can't believe, he was asked to increase the run rate in the other matches. He needs time in the middle, can't believe Dhoni didn't realise that.

ROFL ROFL ROFL!

after an outstanding ODI series in SA (1, 16, 1) and an impressive test series in West Indies (8, 0, 11, 3, 5, 45) and then a super-impressive Champ League T-20 (where he averaged, what, 7.5?), murali vijay is back in the reckoning. so stop all the work that you are doing and take a look at his figures in the ongoing Blue Vs Reds Salve trophy.

M Vijay c Dhawan b Pankaj Singh 26 (50b 1x4 0x6) SR: 52.00

ROFL ROFL ROFL!!!

ok, my verdict: mohd kaif > murali vijay. enough said.
