Actually by that criteria, The Dark Knight deserved at least a nomination for best picture. The only wins for that movie were the utterly predictable posthumous win for Heath Ledger and a forgettable one for sound editing.

seriously, a story about a man wearing a mask and a cape riding a 'batmobile' should get nominated for the best picture?

batman is for kids. unfortunately, they make even these kiddo stuff so dark and violent. nolan can do better stuff.

Sigh! Some people are hard to please. Even 90%+ critics rating won't do it for them.
