Obama came out swinging - will congress respond? Empty Obama came out swinging - will congress respond?

Obama finally showed some energy and came up with a sensible plan. Payrool tax cut, investment benefits, new hire tax benefit and infrastructure bank/expenditure were all known good ideas. Republicans have previously approved these ideas.

Response from congress can go many ways. Repubs are almost sure not to pass all of Obama's proposals. They are likely to pick few ideas that they like and pass them as individual pieces of Bills. They may drag the process well into 2012 such that any job creation that follows does not happen in time and Obama does not get credit. They may include poison pills to some of the bills to force Dems to block them. Repubs may opt for all or some combination of above ideas. One thing is for sure. They will not pass any bill that will really create jobs and get Obama any credit.

Obama should go to people and mobilize them. People are his only hope.
