Shocked when did the rates go so high... in old place I remember it would be around dollars a piece. Those were the days we would scout for 'best rates'. At this new place, I thought we had found a decent place, but I had gone out of loop in last many years....Husband gives his shirts all the time, and I pick them up sometimes, but never bothered on the rates... he gives around 20 shirts at a time, and I don't ever remember seeing such high rates, or maybe I didn't bothered.

I iron my own clothes, but had a couple of tough ones with lots of ruffles and what nots, and some indian long kurtis too...so thot would get them ironed... and then she says 38.25... atleast 3 of them I could have picked out, as they didn't even need that much ironing. But would have looked so cheap, so let it go.

More than 4 bucks a peice? Just for ironing? Where was I all these years?

When you went to pick up, (s)he noticed an Alaxander Dumass (AKA DumbAss) walking in and cashed it neatly. Not that there is anythign wrong with it (sounding like Seinfeld now) ;-)

I went to drop in my clothes.. I asked her 2-3 times, 'for just 9 clothes', and she said 'yessss' in her chinese accent...

gotta find a new haunt.. and need to stop husband spending so much too.

The other day I dropped off dry cleaning. I asked the lady, when will be ready for pick up? She said tomorrow. So I asked my wife to pick it up. Turns out she booked for overnight service, at 100% premium. And my wife thought I had expressly asked for 1 day service, so she paid for it. And later asks me why I was so stupid to ask for 1 day service.

~32 for 15 shirts - Dry Clean, Starch and Iron here. Alteration of GF's clothes ~7; clean, iron is ~3 per. 38 for 9 is too high and you shd shop for a new store.

Wow. 4 bucks a shirt is too much. Why, same day laundry service i.e. washing and ironing at five star hotels costs only 10 bucks a shirt!


Anyway, I always ironed my own clothes. I could outsource that here - but I just like the feel of a freshly pressed shirt. Plus the ten mins spent ironing in the morning gives me an opportunity to think through stuff for the day.

>>> I better check on this next time. All this time, I assumed the next business day thing was standard practice too. Also, I need to look into the price.. usually, I am in a rush between errands when I stop by the dry cleaners
