He may be right with respect to the headline, but the solution he prescribes leaves out the root cause of all the troubles. It might result in a lull in new recruits to Jihad /Political Islam, but the tide will continue, even after these folks are educated. As long as the Political Islamist/Jihadi  ideology fused into their holy scriptures is not separated from the basic faith of Islam in their god, it will not lead anywhere.

In this respect, VP's idea of educating their women has some merit. Empower them and perhaps they will question the hotheads, in a much better fashion than what anyone else can ever do. In addition hopefully they will fight the inherent discrimination in Indian Muslim personal law against Muslim women.
